Ken tells Tessa that he and Trish have each found better people to be with when their tumultuous relationship ended. He assures Tessa that she’ll find someone else, and Hardin will too. Tessa goes to Zed’s apartment to pick him up. He is smoking, but when she expresses distaste, he stops.

Trish tells Hardin that he should apologize to Tessa and that she’ll forgive him, but Hardin wants Tessa to find happiness that he can’t give her. Trish disagrees and Hardin grows angry.

Zed and Tessa have lunch. Tessa asks him what might have happened if he’d won the bet instead of Hardin. Zed claims he would have been kinder to Tessa by telling her the truth before things went too far. Tessa kisses him.
